The 1898–89 WPHL season was the second season of play of the Western Pennsylvania Hockey League, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Pittsburgh Atletic Club won 9 of 12 games to win the championship.
The league reconstituted in the newly-finished hockey rink at the Duquesne Gardens. The team from the old Schenley Park Casino was not reformed and only three teams played in the league.
